Forest track along west side of Loch Eck.    

Terrain: Forest track. Walkers may choose B+ or C+ option at Benmore.

Distance: 28 km or 14km if returning by public bus (C+ option),  duration 8 hrs,  total ascent 60m to max. ht. 60m.

Start point: Glenbranter Forest Car Park

Walk up Auchengaich burn round the lower slopes of Beinn Mhanaich, down to forest track above Glen Mallan and back on military road.

Terrain: Forest track, rough grass, some boggy areas and tarmac.

Distance: 16  km, duration 7 hrs, total ascent unspecified to max. 350m.

Start point: Auchengaich layby near farm.

Crianlarich to Bridge of Orchy (on the West Highland Way)

An undulating section of the West Highland Way with fine views of Strathfillan and Glen Orchy. Lunch stop planned for the metropolis of Tyndrum. Catching train at Bridge of Orchy for return..

Terrain: Made-up paths, roads and farm tracks

Distance: 20 km, duration 7 hrs, total ascent 430 m  to max ht. 345 m.

Start point: West Highland Line train to Crianlarich.

Train Times:- (Outbound) Dumbarton Central 08:48 or Helensburgh Upper 09:05 or Garelochhead 09:16. (Return) Bridge of Orchy 18:59.

It is emphasised that ‘A’ grade walks are strenuous and should only be attempted by those with high standards of fitness and stamina and who are also properly equipped and clothed for the conditions.

Leaders will quite properly turn away those who do not meet these standards as they could create difficulties or danger for other members of the group

Forest track then on hill to Meall Copach and on and up to Meall an Each, the west outer of Ben Cruachan. Down the north east ridge to Meall Riaghain.

Terrain: Trackless mountain.  

Distance: 13 km, duration 8 hrs, total ascent 1000 m to max ht. 906 m.

Start point: Inverawe Country Park.
