Beinn Bhreac

Hill road and forestry track from Cashel Information centre up to around 300m. Then trackless (and boggy) moor to final access to cairn from where there can be excellent views all round.

Terrain: Moor and hill. Old vehicle track aids section over boggy moor. Mainly trackless terrain difficult to navigate.

Distance: 8 km, duration 5 hrs, total ascent 570m to max, ht. 577m

Start point:    Cashel Millenium Forest Car Park, 100m off B837 (the Rowardennan road).

Blairlogie - Dumyat - Blairlogie

Woodland path followed by short road section before following path through woods on to open hillside. Path continues to summit yielding views of Stirling, Wallace Monument and the Forth estuary. From the top, path joins track overlooking Menstrie, and returns to car park via woodland track.

Terrain: Mainly paths and tracks with short road section.     

Distance: 9 km, duration 3½ hrs, total ascent 360m to max. ht. 418m.

Start point: Car park in the village of Blairlogie.

Ben a'An (The Pinnacle)

Well marked path to the summit which climbs steeply up, first through woods, then on open hillside with glorious views. Return on an indistinct and sometimes boggy path which goes north from the summit and then west down to the tarmac track beside Loch Katrine to the pier and thence by minor road back to Loch Achray and the start point.

Terrain: Track, boggy path and road.

Distance: 6 km, duration 3½ hrs, total ascent 355 m to max ht. 462m.

Start point:  Ben a'An car park on lochside at west end of Loch Achray (A821).
